About CalcSpeed

What This Site Is

CalcSpeed is a collection of free, browser-based calculators built specifically for people in the United States. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is ever sent to a server, logged, or stored anywhere. Your salary figures, health metrics, loan amounts, and personal data stay on your device.

The site covers the calculations most people reach for on a regular basis: mortgage payments, BMI, salary and take-home pay, calorie needs, loan amortization, age in exact days, tip splitting, grade averages, percentage math, and time zone conversion. Each tool uses current US conventions — dollar amounts, US measurement units, all 50 state income tax rates, and the standard US time zones.

Who Built It

My name is Nitish Chowdari Ponguluri. I'm a Senior Cloud Platform Architect with over a decade of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems. I built CalcSpeed because I was tired of calculator sites that load slowly, bury the result under ads, require an account, or quietly collect your financial data.

Every page on this site is statically generated and deployed to a CDN edge network, which is why it loads fast. The UI is intentionally minimal — the answer is always front and center. I use the site myself whenever I need to run a quick mortgage scenario or check a salary estimate, so I have a personal interest in keeping it accurate and fast.

Data Sources and Accuracy

The numbers behind each calculator come from authoritative US sources. Here's where the key figures come from:

A Note on Tax Estimates

The salary and take-home pay calculator produces estimates, not precise tax liability figures. It applies federal marginal tax brackets, the standard deduction, and your selected state's flat or marginal rate. It does not account for itemized deductions, tax credits, pre-tax 401(k) or HSA contributions, self-employment tax, or local city taxes. For exact withholding, use IRS Publication 15-T and consult a tax professional. The estimates are directionally accurate and useful for comparing scenarios, but should not be used to determine actual quarterly estimated tax payments.

Privacy

CalcSpeed collects no personal data. There are no user accounts, no tracking pixels, and no form submissions to any backend. The only third-party code on the site is Google AdSense, which may use cookies per Google's standard ad-serving practices. You can opt out of personalized ads through Google's ad settings. No calculator input you provide is ever transmitted, logged, or retained.
